The shepherd dog is a dog that helps in herding a herd of cattle. There are different types of shepherd dogs, or better to say - there are different jobs that a shepherd dog can do. First, it is the classic role that is known for a shepherd dog, and that is to accompany and defend a herd. But there are specializations as follows: the herding dog and the guard dog. But the name shepherd dog actually means the dog that accompanies the shepherds to defend them and the flock.
